Harald Eggebrecht, born in 1971, studied business education at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Instead of entering the teaching profession, he pursued a career in sports journalism. In 2004, he took over the editorial management of the triathlon website tri2b.com and became its owner in 2013. He began his own triathlon career in 1989, with four participations in the Ironman Hawaii among his sporting highlights.
