Hans Karl Peterlini, born in 1961 in Bolzano, is a former journalist and education scholar. He served for many years as editor-in-chief of culture- and society-focused media, including “ff,” “südtirol profil,” and “24h.” His early work addressed majority–minority relations in South Tyrol as well as political violence and ethnic conflict. He later turned increasingly to educational and learning research. In 2014 he completed his habilitation at the University of Innsbruck with the study “Lernen und Macht” and became a professor of general education and intercultural education at the University of Klagenfurt. His publications include “Bomben aus zweiter Hand,” “Wir Kinder der Südtirol-Autonomie,” biographies of Silvius Magnago and Hans Dietl, and “Freiheitskämpfer auf der Couch”.
