Hans-Joachim Gelberg (1930–2020) was a German author and editor. In 1971, he founded the Beltz & Gelberg children’s and young adult publishing program. He received the German Youth Literature Prize for his first yearbook of children’s literature. As a promoter of poetry for children, he was particularly committed to making poetic texts accessible and enjoyable for young readers.
