Hans-Ernst Schiller

Hans-Ernst Schiller, born in 1952, studied philosophy, history and sociology in Erlangen and Frankfurt am Main. He earned his doctorate with a study of social critique in the work of Ernst Bloch and completed his habilitation on Wilhelm von Humboldt’s social philosophy. After serving as a substitute professor in Darmstadt, he was professor of social philosophy and social ethics in Düsseldorf from 1996 to 2018. His publications include »Bloch-Konstellationen« (1991), »An unsichtbarer Kette« (1993), »Das Individuum im Widerspruch« (2006), »Ethik in der Welt des Kapitals« (2011), and »Freud-Kritik von links« (2017).
