Hans Aanrud (1863–1953) was a Norwegian writer and literary and theatre critic. He came from Gausdal in eastern Norway and became known primarily for his poetic and humorous depictions of traditional rural life in nineteenth-century Norway, which he had experienced during his childhood. His successful children’s novels include *Sidsel Langrock* and *Sölve Sonnenfang*.
