Gunther Vogel (1929–1988) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe. After working as an art teacher, he pursued a career as a painter and draughtsman. His work was shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Germany and abroad. In 1985, he received the Art Prize of the Artists’ Association of Baden-Württemberg. Vogel also created the graphics for the Deutscher Taschenbuch Verlag’s »dtv-Atlas Baukunst«.
