Guido Kasmann

Guido Kasmann was born in Eigelstein, in the heart of Cologne, and grew up bilingual: he learned Standard German from his mother and the Cologne dialect from his father. He initially worked as a primary school teacher before leaving the civil service and turning to writing children’s and young adult books and performing theater for young audiences. His book “So tickt der Kölner” explores Cologne’s way of life and language.
