Greta Thunberg

Greta Thunberg (born 2003) is a Swedish climate activist. She became known for starting a school strike for climate outside the Swedish parliament in 2018, which developed into the international Fridays for Future movement. She addressed, among others, the United Nations, the European Parliament and the World Economic Forum, calling for climate policy based on scientific findings. In 2019, she received the Right Livelihood Award, often referred to as the Alternative Nobel Prize, and was named Person of the Year by TIME.
