Goran Vojnović, born in Ljubljana in 1980, is a Slovenian writer and film director. He studied directing at the Theatre and Film Academy in Ljubljana. His debut novel, *Čefuri raus!* (*Tschefuren raus!*), attracted considerable public attention for its portrayal of police violence. In 2020, he received the Angelus Literary Award for his novel *Vaters Land*. His books have been translated into numerous languages.
