Giancarlo De Cataldo, born in Taranto in 1956, is the author of novels, short stories and screenplays for film and television. Before studying law, he wanted to become a film director and worked as a radio DJ. He later served as a judge and appellate judge in Rome. He is best known for the repeatedly adapted novel “Romanzo Criminale,” inspired by the Magliana gang and organized crime in Rome. In “Suburra,” he portrays the links between the underworld, politics and the Vatican.
