Gertrude Cepl-Kaufmann (born 1942) is a German scholar of literature and culture. She was a professor and director of the Institute for Modernity in the Rhineland at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Her research focuses include modernity, the rhetoric of regional cultural spaces, and literary sociology. She also curated interdisciplinary and comparative exhibitions and symposia on cultural history. In 2012 she received the Rheinlandtaler, and in 2013 she was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande).
