Gerry Badger was born in Northampton, England, and is a photographer, architect and photography critic. His books include “Collecting Photography” (2002), “The Genius of Photography” (2007), “The Pleasures of Good Photographs” (2010) and “Another Country” (2022). With Martin Parr, he co-authored the multi-volume series “The Photobook: A History” (2004–2014), which received the German Photobook Prize and the Kraszna-Krausz Award. “The Pleasures of Good Photographs” won the International Center of Photography’s Infinity Writer’s Award in 2011. In 2018, Badger received the Royal Photographic Society’s J. Dudley Johnston Award. His first photobook, “It Was a Grey Day”, featuring photographs of Berlin, was published in 2015.
