Gerhard Richter (born 1932 in Dresden) is a German visual artist. He studied at the Dresden University of Fine Arts and the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. His diverse body of work includes painting, sculpture, photography, and drawing, and explores the nature of images and their representation. Richter’s work has been exhibited internationally, including in retrospectives at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Tate Modern in London, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Suhrkamp published “Nachricht von ruhigen Momenten,” co-created with Alexander Kluge, as well as his images for “Mit meiner Vergangenheit lebe ich,” edited by Ivan Lefkovits.
