Gerda Raidt, born in Berlin in 1975, initially studied graphic design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle and later illustration at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, where she completed a master-class program under Volker Pfüller. From 2004 onward, she worked as a freelance illustrator for various publishers and illustrated numerous children’s books. She also wrote and designed books of her own, exploring the interplay of images and text. Her work includes, among others, “Das kunstseidene Mädchen,” “Fritzi war dabei,” and “Limonade im Kirschbaum.”
