Gerda Lerner

Gerda Lerner (1920–2013) was an Austrian author, historian, and activist. As a Jewish girl, she fled Vienna for the United States to escape Nazism. She later taught history in the United States and became a pioneer of feminist historiography. She was also active in the labor and women’s movements and opposed racism and segregation.
