Gerd Ohlhauser is an industrial designer who worked and taught for international companies and educational institutions. In 2008, he founded the Surface publishing house, focusing on color and surfaces; one of its principal publications was The International Surface Yearbook. After the publishing house was transferred in 2015, Ohlhauser published photo flipbooks under the Preface label. He also worked on editing and publishing the work of Gert Selle as well as his own work.
