Gerd Eversberg

Gerd Eversberg (born 1947) is a German scholar of literature and cultural studies. He studied theatre studies, art history, German literature, philosophy and education in Cologne, where he received his doctorate in 1986 with a dissertation on dramatic adaptations of the Faust legend. From 1989 to 2011, he served as secretary of the Theodor Storm Society and director of the Theodor Storm Centre, including its archive and museum, in Husum. In 2011, he became an honorary professor at the Department of German Philology at the University of Göttingen. Eversberg has published widely on Theodor Storm, poetic realism, subject and museum education, media history and the cultural history of North Frisia. He has also edited Storm’s writings, works and correspondence.
