Gerd Busse

Gerd Busse (born 1959) worked as a social scientist, translator, publicist, editor and publisher. He lived and worked in the Netherlands for many years and also explored the country in his scholarly and literary work. In 2012, he published the cultural history *Typisch niederländisch. Die Niederlande von A bis Z*; in 2021, his country portrait *Pocket Belgien* appeared through Germany’s Federal Agency for Civic Education. As a translator, he translated works by the Flemish author Willem Elsschot as well as J. J. Voskuil’s seven-volume novel *Das Büro* from Dutch into German.
