Gene Wolfe

Gene Wolfe (d. 2019) was an American science-fiction and fantasy author. He became particularly known for his series *The Book of the New Sun*. Before pursuing writing as a career, Wolfe worked as an engineer and was involved in developing the machine that gives Pringles potato chips their characteristic shape. He received the World Fantasy Award and the SFWA Grand Master Award for lifetime achievement and was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame.
