Fritz Schalk

Fritz Schalk (1902–1980) was a German literary scholar, author, editor, and translator. In 1932, he completed his habilitation at the University of Hamburg with a study of Pascal. From 1936, he taught at the University of Cologne, where he became a professor in 1937. He was granted emeritus status in 1970 and was admitted to the Order Pour le Mérite in 1979.
