Frieder von Ammon (born 1973) studied modern German literature, comparative literature and musicology at LMU Munich and Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He earned his doctorate with a study of Goethe and Schiller’s “Xenien” and their reception, and completed his habilitation in 2013. From 2015, he held a professorship in modern German literary studies at Leipzig University. His research focused on German-language literature from the sixteenth to the twenty-first century, particularly lyric poetry and the relationship between literature and music. His publications include “Fülle des Lauts. Aufführung und Musik in der deutschsprachigen Lyrik seit 1945: Das Werk Ernst Jandls in seinen Kontexten” (2018).
