Fred Uhlman

Fred Uhlman (1901–1985) was a German painter and writer. He was born in Stuttgart into a Jewish family and studied law in Freiburg, Munich and Tübingen. Uhlman was active in the Social Democratic Party of Germany and was a friend of Kurt Schumacher. He fled to France in 1933 and later worked as a painter and writer in France, Spain and England. He died in London in 1985.
