Francois Lelord

François Lelord, born in Paris in 1953, is a French psychiatrist and writer. He studied medicine and psychology in France and California and initially worked as a psychiatrist. In 1996, he closed his practice in Paris to travel and devote himself to writing. In 2002, he published his first novel, “Hector’s Journey: The Search for Happiness,” featuring the psychiatrist Hector in search of answers to life’s major questions. The book and the subsequent novels in the Hector series achieved international success. Lelord also wrote psychological nonfiction, including “The Art of Self-Esteem” and “The Power of Emotions.”
