Florian Freistetter

Florian Freistetter (born 1977) studied astronomy at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate there. He subsequently worked as an astronomer at institutions in Jena and Heidelberg before becoming a freelance science writer. In 2008, he founded the astronomy blog “Astrodicticum simplex”; in 2012, he launched the podcast “Sternengeschichten.” Freistetter writes books and joined the science cabaret group Science Busters in 2015. His publications include “Der Komet im Cocktailglas. Wie Astronomie unseren Alltag bestimmt” (2013), which was named Science Book of the Year 2014, and “Eine Geschichte des Universums in 100 Sternen” (2019).
