Eric Ambler

Eric Ambler (1909–1998) was a British writer regarded as one of the founders of the classic noir and spy thriller. His work received numerous honors, including the Order of the British Empire, which Queen Elizabeth II bestowed on him in 1981. Ambler died in London in 1998.
