Emma Cline (born 1989) grew up in Northern California and earned a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University. She received the Paris Review’s Plimpton Prize for Fiction in 2014 and was a Guggenheim Foundation fellow in 2024. Her short stories appeared in publications including The New Yorker, Granta, and the Paris Review, and were selected several times for the Best American Short Stories anthology. Her books include the novel The Girls (2016), the story collection Daddy (2021), and the novel The Guest (2023).
