Emanuel Schikaneder

Emanuel Schikaneder (1751–1812) was a theatre professional and librettist from Straubing. He built his career in Vienna and worked with his friend Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on the opera The Magic Flute, writing its libretto. The work secured his lasting fame.
