Elvira Bittner

Elvira Bittner is a translator and Germanist. She trained as a translator and interpreter for Italian and English at the Sprachen- und Dolmetscher-Institut in Munich, completing her state examination and taking her oath at the Munich Regional Court in 1989. In 1998, she earned an M.A. in German studies in Munich and Amsterdam, specializing in modern German literature and Italian philology. Her translations have included fiction, children’s books, historical novels, biographies, and nonfiction in fields including art and cultural history, philosophy, theology, and the humanities.
