Elsbeth Dangel-Pelloquin is a literary scholar who taught German literary studies at the University of Basel. She published books on Arthur Schnitzler, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, and Jean Paul, as well as essays on authors including Gottfried Keller, Adalbert Stifter, and Ilse Aichinger. Her other work addresses the literary history of kissing and tears, comparative literature, and women writers of contemporary literature. In 2007, she edited the volume “Hugo von Hofmannsthal. Neue Wege der Forschung” (“Hugo von Hofmannsthal: New Approaches to Research”). She served as deputy chair or board member of the Hugo von Hofmannsthal Society.
