Adelheid Duvanel

Adelheid Duvanel (1936–1996) was born in Pratteln, Switzerland, and grew up in Liestal. After training as a textile designer, she worked in various office positions and as a journalist and writer. She began her literary career under the pseudonym Judith Januar in the Basler Nachrichten, anthologies, and literary journals. From 1980 onward, her collections of stories were published by Luchterhand. Duvanel received numerous awards, including the Grand Schiller Prize and the Kranichstein Literature Prize.
