Elke Bader

Elke Bader is a German author and a scholar of cultural studies, literature, and linguistics. She studied cultural studies with a focus on history and philosophy. For more than twenty years, she worked as the managing director of an international classical music record company. In 2008, she founded the Griot Hörbuchverlag audiobook publishing house. She is known, among other works, for her historical novels about Anna von Rötteln and the Röttler, and for the biographical series “Menschen, Mythen, Macht” (“People, Myths, Power”). The series includes biographies of Charlemagne, Frederick II of Hohenstaufen, Frederick I Barbarossa, Elizabeth I, Napoleon, Catherine the Great, Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, and Queen Elizabeth II.
