Elisa Klapheck

Elisa Klapheck (born 1962) is a philosopher with a doctorate, a liberal rabbi, and a professor of Jewish Studies. She studied political science, law, and Jewish Studies. Her professional career has included serving as press spokesperson for the Jewish Community of Berlin, co-founding the liberal Oranienburger Straße synagogue and the Jewish feminist organization Bet Debora, and working as a rabbi for the Beit Ha’Chidush community in Amsterdam. She was ordained as a rabbi in 2004. Her publications include “Fräulein Rabbiner Jonas,” “Wie ich Rabbinerin wurde,” and “Margarete Susman und ihr jüdischer Beitrag zur politischen Philosophie.”
