Eliezer Yudkowsky

Eliezer Yudkowsky is regarded as a pioneer of technical AI safety research and was a co-founder of the Machine Intelligence Research Institute (MIRI) in Berkeley. In the early 2000s, he helped shape concepts such as “Friendly AI” and the alignment problem. He also became known for warning about the risks of uncontrolled superintelligence. In 2023, *Time* included him among the most influential people in artificial intelligence.
