Elena Fischer

Elena Fischer, born in 1987, studied comparative literature and film studies. In 2019 and 2020, she took part in the Darmstadt Text Workshop led by Kurt Drawert. An excerpt from her debut novel, *Paradise Garden*, made her a finalist for the 29th open mike in 2021, and she received the City of Mainz Literary Development Award for young authors. In 2023, the novel was nominated for the German Book Prize and for the Debut Prize of the Harbour Front Literature Festival.
