Edward Abbey

Edward Abbey (1927–1989) was an American writer. In the 1950s, he worked as a park ranger in the Utah desert, where he wrote several novels during long, solitary days. He gained wider recognition with his writings about Utah and the desert, published under the title “Desert Solitaire.” Abbey died in Arizona in 1989.
