Eckhard Henscheid

Eckhard Henscheid, born in Amberg in 1941, is a German writer associated with the Neue Frankfurter Schule. He initially worked as a journalist and editor before becoming a freelance author. In 1979, he was involved in founding the satirical magazine “Titanic.” His wide-ranging work includes novels, short stories, satire, poetry, nonsense verse, essays, reportage, columns, and polemics. His works on culture and language include “Dummdeutsch” (1992), “Kulturgeschichte der Mißverständnisse” (1997), and “Alle 756 Kulturen” (2001). In 2014, he published “Dostojewskis Gelächter,” a study of Fyodor Dostoevsky as a humorist.
