Eberhard Geisler

Eberhard Geisler, born in 1950 in Bad Homburg, is a literary scholar, author, critic, and translator. He studied German and Romance languages and literature in Frankfurt am Main, Madrid, and Hamburg. After working at the Institute of General and Comparative Literature at Freie Universität Berlin, he was Professor of Romance Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz from 1995 to 2017. Geisler has published works on Francisco de Quevedo and Henri Michaux, as well as books of notes including “Mikronotizen” (2017), “Literarische Scherflein” (2019), and “In drei Gottes Namen” (2021). In 1990, he received a Catalan literary award for translation.
