Earl of Chesterfield

Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield (1694–1783), was a British politician and diplomat. He served as a member of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, acted as an ambassador for the British Crown, and was a Knight of the Order of the Garter. He is best known for his letters of advice to his son on education, refinement, and good manners.
