Erich Ohser (1903–1944), also known by the pseudonym e. o. plauen, was a German caricaturist and illustrator. He became widely known for the “Father and Son” picture stories, which are regarded as timeless classics and gained international recognition. Ohser was a friend of Erich Kästner and illustrated several of his books. Some of his caricatures and illustrations displeased the National Socialist authorities. Denounced and arrested in 1944, he took his own life shortly before his trial.
