Author · 10 books
E. M. Forster (1879–1970) was an English writer and a major author of literary modernism. His best-known novels include *Howards End*, *A Room with a View* and *Maurice*. In *Maurice*, he addressed homosexuality, a subject widely regarded as taboo in his time. Forster kept the novel secret for nearly half a century, and it was published only after his death. His work also includes essays and the dystopian story *The Machine Stops*.
