Christine Wunnicke

Christine Wunnicke (born 1966) is a German writer. Her work includes novels, biographical literature and radio plays; she has also translated from English and Italian. Her notable novels include *Der Fuchs und Dr. Shimamura* (2015), *Die Dame mit der bemalten Hand* (2020) and *Wachs* (2025). *Der Fuchs und Dr. Shimamura* was longlisted for the German Book Prize, while *Die Dame mit der bemalten Hand* and *Wachs* were shortlisted. Wunnicke has received, among other honors, the Tukan Prize, the Wilhelm Raabe Literature Prize and the Jean Paul Prize.
