Dorothea Brande

Dorothea Brande (1893–1948) was an American writer, editor, lecturer, and newspaper journalist. She studied at the University of Chicago and the University of Michigan. She is best known for her 1936 book “Wake Up and Live,” which sold more than two million copies. In 1937, Twentieth Century Fox adapted the work as a musical.
