Dori Pinto was born in Jerusalem in 1958. He studied political science, law, and literature at Tel Aviv University and later served as the public defender for the Jerusalem District. His debut novel, *The Moon over Jerusalem*, received the Sapir Prize for Best Debut in 2020.
