Doreen Cunningham

Doreen Cunningham was born in Wales and trained as an environmental engineer. She began her career in climate research at the UK’s Natural Environment Research Council before moving into journalism. For twenty years, she reported on nature for the BBC. She also studied creative writing. In 2020, she received the RSL Giles St Aubyn Award. Her debut book, Der Gesang in den Meeren, was shortlisted for the Eccles Centre and Hay Festival Writers Award in 2021.
