Donald Davidson

Donald Davidson (1917–2003) was an American philosopher. He taught at universities in New York, Stanford, Chicago, and Paris, among other institutions. In 1970, he delivered the John Locke Lectures in Oxford. In 1991, he received the Hegel Prize of the City of Stuttgart. Davidson was a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a Fellow of the British Academy. He was most recently Willis S. and Marion Slusser Professor of Philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley.
