Dirk Walbrecker

Dirk Walbrecker was born in Wuppertal, Germany, and studied subjects including German literature, theatre studies and education. After several years in the film industry and a period working as a teacher, he became a freelance author in 1986. His work includes screenplays, radio plays and audiobooks, as well as numerous picture books and books for children and young adults. His books have been translated into as many as 15 languages and have received several awards in Germany and abroad. Walbrecker also worked as a presenter at readings and creative writing workshops for children, young people and adults. He is the father of three daughters.
