Dino Buzzati (1906–1972) was a writer, journalist and editor. He worked for Milan’s Corriere della Sera throughout his career and wrote novels, short stories, plays, poetry and opera librettos. He also painted and illustrated his own books. Among his best-known works is the novel The Tartar Steppe. His literary work includes motifs associated with Surrealism.
