Dietmar Schmitz

Dietmar Schmitz worked as an air traffic controller for DFS, Germany’s air navigation service provider. He began his career in 1989 at the former control centre in Düsseldorf and moved to the Cologne/Bonn control tower in 1994, where he worked until 2020 as a controller, instructor and supervising controller. From 1996 onward, he also represented DFS in its recruitment activities at numerous events. Schmitz published his debut book about his profession.
