Dieter Stolz

Dieter Stolz (born 1960) is a literary scholar, editor and author. He earned his doctorate at Technische Universität Berlin with a study of constants and developments in the literary work of Günter Grass. From 1993 to 1999, he worked as a research assistant, followed by ten years as an editor of the journal “Sprache im technischen Zeitalter” and, from 2000 to 2006, as programme director at the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin. Stolz published books and essays on contemporary literature and held visiting lectureships at universities in Germany and abroad. In 2013, he was appointed honorary professor of modern German literary studies at the University of Lübeck. From 2011 to 2019, he was responsible for the Grass editorial programme at Steidl Verlag and served as co-editor and commentator of the new Grass edition.
