Dieter E Zimmer

Dieter E. Zimmer (1934–2020) was a German writer, translator, essayist, and science journalist. From 1959 to 1999, he worked as an editor at the weekly newspaper Die Zeit, serving as head of its cultural section from 1973 to 1977. His work as a science journalist covered subjects including psychology, biology, medicine, and linguistics. From 1989 onward, he was responsible as editor and translator for the German collected edition of Vladimir Nabokov’s works. He received the German Psychological Society’s award for science journalism.
